Update on Internet Home Business Operating System

February 28th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Internet Home Businesses

If you own an Internet Home Business, or two, you need to make sure you as many tools as you can get to help you become successful. One of those tools is having a Time Management personal operating system, take a look at his one, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com. What a Time Management personal operating system does, is the same thing your computers operating system does, makes everything happen, allows all of the different functions on your computer to  work together, without one, you are going nowhere fast.

An Internet Home Business is a complex operation, it takes planning, organization, prioritizing, setting goals, there is a great deal going on, if you do not have a system in place to co ordinate all of this, you are fighting an uphill battle on a very slippery slope. Here are some of the advantages that you, as an Internet Home Business owner, will experience from using a Time Management personal operating system.

 1. Checks and balances.  Its very helpful to be able to look over, and see at a glance if your are on the right track. A good Time Management system will help you organize, set up and run your day to day operations. Having this system in place will reduce the times you are going off course, and when you do get pushed off course, you will be able to scramble back much quicker.

  2. Have a plan, work your plan.  We all have heard the saying, he never planned to fail, he just failed to plan. This is a two step process, you must have a plan, and when that plan is in place, work that plan, make it happen. Without a daily system in place, your chance of success are virtually zero. If part of your daily routine is to establish a plan, a written plan on a daily basis, then you are at least going to be aware of when it is not there, hopefully this will trigger some action on your part resulting in getting this process done on a daily routine.

Having a written plan for the day, is the first step in getting control over your time and then making better use of that time. The days that I do my best, get my priorities accomplished, are the days that I follow my plan most closely. Having a plan makes seeing as the day is going by, how well you are doing and where you may need to make changes and add up on somethings and delete others. An Internet Home Business requires constant attention, you need to be able to address issues and get then attended to as soon as they arise, a good Time Management system will help you in this regard.

  3. Goal setting for an Internet Home Business is crucial.  Setting and then monitoring goals for your Internet Home Business is almost an impossible task unless you have an organized written down system to do this for you. The missing link that people miss in this process, is that after they set their goals, they do not integrate those goals into their day to day operations. They set the goals, then their day to day schedules get filled up, and the time to get the goals done is not there , it gets eaten up by other tasks.

You need to Time Activate your goals if they are to ever have a chance of being accomplished, more here on Time Activating goals, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com . The problem we all face, owners of an Internet Home Business or not, we all want to do too much. Our plates are over flowing and we still want to pile more on top. I have been doing this for more than 30 years, and in the last 6 months, have struggled with this problem, struggled and lost I might add.

Here a just a few advantages of having a good Time Management personal operating system in your bag of tricks. More on this tomorrow, have a great day.

If you Own an Internet Home Business, You Need an Operating System

February 27th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Internet Home Businesses

Owning an Internet Home Business requires at least the same skill set as operating a computer, would you not agree? If so, why does your computer have an operating system, and more than likely, you as the owner of an Internet Home  Business , do not? When you think about it, it’s crazy that over 95% of the people out there try to operate a business, as well as navigate life, without any assistance or help at all. I am referring to the help, assistance, guidance that a good operating system can provide you. Take a look at this site for some free help, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com .

What the heck is an operating system for someone who owns an Internet Home Business? It can be a lot of things, here are a few examples.

  1. Helps you manage your time. People who know me and follow this blog, know my passion for proper Time Management. Without controlling your time, you are fighting an uphill battle, one that I have yet see anyone win. Everything we do, flows through our use of time. How we invest our time, how we decide which tasks get out time and which ones do not, these are the decisions that decide if we win or lose, it is that simple. A good operating system deals with all the issues that pertain to time, that system will give you the tools, just like the operating system on your computer, to manage, control, and integrate all of the decisions that deal with time issues.

You need to be able to reach over right now, and place your hand, physically on the ways and means you make all of your daily decisions that effect your Internet Home Business, as well as your personal life. You can do this step with your computer, you should be able to do it just as easily for your Internet home Business and life in general as well.

  2. Gives you direction and focus.  You need, you want to be able to wake up every day, and have a focus and a direction for that day; laid out for, planned out by you, and coordinated by your personal operating system. The one I recommend for your is this one, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com.  The Power Time Management System provides you with a step by step, comprehensive system that will help you get a clear direction and focus to your Internet Home Business, as well as your life. As always, if you are reaping the maximum benefit and joy out of life, then you are in the less than 5 % that are doing so, and as they say, I have nothing that can improve on that.

I have been working on Time Management issues for the last 30 years, and I will working on them, for I hope, longer than the next 30 years. Getting a focus and a direction in life, is not an easy task. Trying to do both without the proper tools, is like, well, getting the results some of us are getting now. If you want more of the same, keep doing what you are currently doing, if you want different results, you need to do different things. One of those different things is to get a proper operating system as soon as possible.

Owning and operating an Internet Home Business, and then making that business a success, requires dedication, perseverance as well as having all of the right tools in place. If your computer has an operating system, don’t you think you deserve one as well?

If you own an Internet Home Business, you need to take  advantage of every tool that is out there to make your job as easy as possible. Adding a good operating system to your arsenal of tools should be your first step.   Have a great day, see you tomorrow.

If You Own an Internet Home Business, How Do You Handle This Issue

February 26th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Internet Home Businesses

If you own an Internet Home Business, you probably have a Blog, if you do, I would like your feedback on this issue. On my Internet Home Business, on this site, I am using my blog to get material and content out to people on the Internet. I am hoping this is a good way to do that. As people who read my posts here know, I an an expert in some areas, but a newbie in others, perhaps not unlike a lot of people on the Internet. The difference between myself and others, I admit I am a newbie in the areas that I am not an expert in, in the inner workings of blogs is one of the areas that I need work on.

As I mentioned, even though I own an Internet Home Business or two, or three, I need help with my blog work. The first question is the transferring of information to other people,  is a blog a good way to do that? The adage that content is king is not lost on me, I do have 30 years of past experience to offer up and I am hoping that posting regularly on my blog/ blogs is a good way to do that. Any help you could give on this particular topic would be appreciated.

Next, the big one, what to do with the posts that come in? I am fast learning that the way some people get links back to their page is to put a post up on someone Eese’s blog, with  a link back to their page. Unfortunately, what was a good idea at the beginning has turned into a rats nest. The  initial concept of  people putting up ideas, content, thoughts on specific topics, and then if people were interested, they could comment and form relationships and communities with like minded people. It seemed like a good idea at the time, till it got basterdized.

It seems what we have now ,  for the people who  own an Internet Home Business, is a good idea run amok. The problem, and I think a problem for everyone who has a blog, is to differentiate the real people, from the people who are just looking for a link. The ones that are just ads are easy to get rid of, it’s the ones that write a line or two, what do you do with these? Is it up to the owner of the blog to either care about the comments, or do you just approve all of the ones that are not out and out ads and let the chips land where they may. If you own an Internet Home Business, have a blog, what do you do to handle this situation?

Is there a way to figure out if the posts on a blog come from a person, or a bot, or does it matter? If the post is not real, what is the difference, if they is no interest in what you have to say, does it really matter if it is a comment from  a disinterested person or a bot that is looking for the link. I would like to know if there is a way of knowing if comments come from people or bots, if you know, drop me a line, thanks.

How long do you have to wait to find out if people care about what you have to say or not? I bought this site, www.learn2earn2.com, just about 2 and 1/2 months ago. I have put up 63 posts on this blog in that time frame. I do not seem to be getting the kind of comments and interaction I see on other blogs. The question is, is what I have to say not of any value to anyone, hence the lack of relevant comments, or is it just too early to perhaps get an audience. This site is suppose to be getting around 200 to 300 visitors a day, I would of thought that would of been enough people to see if my message is of interest to people. Another question is this, out of 200 visitors to the main site, how many will even click over to the blog?

If you own  an Internet Home Business, your use of time is crucial to you, that is my message on this blog, as well as my main Time Management site, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com , I was hoping that people who have an Internet Home Business, that came to this site, would see the value of this material in helping them become successful. Pardon the pun, but only time will tell:)  Have a great day, see you tomorrow.

A 30 Year Tip for People who Own an Internet Home Business

February 25th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Internet Home Businesses

If you own an Internet Home Business, I have a tip that has taken me 30 plus years to learn and to be honest, I still struggle with it. I own an Internet Home Business, and I thought that this business would be like the ones that I own in the bricks and mortar world, not so. Operating an Internet Home Business has it’s own set of problems, different than the problems of a business in what I call the real world. I am a bit off topic, my point is this, operating an Internet Home Business is a tough task, tougher than a business out in the real world.

What is the 30 tip, this, what ever you are trying to do, cut it in half, at least. That may not be earth shattering, but it could be the best advice you get for some time. I consider myself a very experienced business person, I have been around for 30 plus years in the business world and to be honest, I have had a rough time finding my bearings when it has come to getting my balance with my own Internet Home Business. Actually the problem is not my single Internet Home Business, but the 4 or 5 thought I thought I could handle at the same time.

I own a site that deals with Time Management issues, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com, I am a little embarrassed to say that, after taking such a long time to find my bearings on the Internet, and I still do not think I am there yet. I made the classic rookie mistakes, mistakes that I know better not to make, but made them none the less.

The classic rookie mistake was taking on far too much, filling my plate up till it over flowed, and then I still added more to it !!.  There is something about what appears to be easy on the Internet, but in reality, the time it takes to build and develop a Internet Home Business is staggering. Not only do we have the traditional business issues to deal with, we have the added burden of building traffic, and then  getting ranked on the Search engines.

Back to my tip, cut everything in half. This may be a knee jerk reaction to my own struggle on the Internet, but after talking to quite a few people on my sites, this seems to be a common problem. In reality, I have about 15 web sites, 5 main ones, and then about 10 sites that are in various states of being finished. My 5 main sites, are also not where  I want them to be. This leaves me with a horrendous problem of being stretched far too thin, and having to make decisions about what to drop and what to work on.

Since the beginning of the New Year  I have been chopping and dumping things off my plate, it was overflowing and I was not focused and my results were suffering. I an down to 3 main sites and I still think I need to chop down to one, to do that one justice. I should of been happy with one good Internet Home Business, instead of trying to work on more, and end up with none of them being successful. Part of the problem was that I was trying to learn an new industry, the Internet, as well as setting up new businesses at the same time.

I learned that I have to set up my first Internet Home Business, make it successful, before I tackle the second. That sounds pretty basic advice, but it has taken me 30 years to learn it, I hope I have saved you some time.

Internet Home Business Question,How Do I Start on My Time Management Journey?

February 24th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Internet Home Businesses

Some one who owns an Internet Home Business emailed me that question last night. They had been to my web site, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com , and wanted to know what they could do to start to look at how they use their time and to make positive changes to how they operate their Internet Home Business. Okay, here are some suggestions.

  1. How you operate your Internet Home Business should be similar to how your computer works. You have an operating system for your computer, you need to have one for your Internet Home Business as well. I should point out that adopting a Time Management system for your business, you should also extend that same system for your personal  life as well. This is something that I do not emphasize as much as I should. There should not be this break between your personal life and how you function with your Internet Home Business. There should be a seamless connection between the two, one operating system for both sides of your life, business and personal.

I call the Power Time Management System, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com, an operating system for the rest of your life. The question is, ” how do I start on my Time Management journey ? “, the first step is to look for and find a system that suits you and what you want to accomplish in life. Time Management is the bridge, the walkway that will get you from here, where you are now, to where you want to be. Part of the process, the first part of the process is to identify how you are going to get from here, to where you want to go. A long time ago, I came to the realization that to achieve the goals that I have set for myself, the way that I would be able to do that, would be to utilize my time to it’s absolute maximum, that means proper Time Management .

I call it the Time Management filter for people who own an Internet Home Business. When you start to divvy up your time, and start to invest your time in doing certain tasks and jobs, start to look at your decisions through a Time Management filter, ask yourself. am I making the best use of my time, is doing this task, now, the best use of my time?

These questions only skim the surface, but they are a crucial first step in starting on getting control of your time, making the best investments with your time, and most importantly, you are  now actively looking at time in the right light. Time is a non renewable resource we have, we have only a finite amount of it, once it’s gone, that time, that chance to achieve something with it, is gone forever.

    2. Start thinking of your time as the most precious tool you have at your disposal to achieve the things you want in life. THAT is where your Time Management journey starts. You own an Internet Home Business, you are not happy with some aspect of your business, not enough sales, not enough profits, no traffic to your web page, it does not matter what the issue is, where is the first place you look for the solution? This is not a trick question, the answer is simple, at least for me it is, I first look at the decisions I am making with how I use my time and where that time is going.

If I am not getting enough traffic to my web site, I am making faulty decisions about the issues pertaining to not getting enough traffic to my Internet Home Business. I have to work through those decisions and re think them, re tool, re evaluate, all of these are Time Management issues and decisions. Remember Time Management decides what you do, and when you do it, when you see it written down in front of you, that  emcompases a huge part of what you end up deciding  what you do with your time.

Lastly, Time Management is the tool you use to open up the can of life !! That is the first time I have ever used that analogy, I have to think about it for  a while but it is not too bad. What do you think?  Have a great day, see you tomorrow.

My 60th Internet Home Business Post, Since Buying This Site in December

February 23rd, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Internet Home Businesses

I own an Internet Home Business, several actually, and I am aware of the issues facing us. I use the word us because I hope that other Internet Home Business owners are reading these posts and getting some value from them. I know some people are reading this Blog, I get some comments on the Blog, more emails than posts. I have been dealing with Internet Home Business owners for many years, as I often say, I was dealing with them, before there were computers! This gives me an unique perspective on what issues and problems we, as Internet Home Business owners face.

I will mention a few here, not so much as advice to you, but questions that I am in the process of working through for myself. I have answers for some of the questions, others I am still wading through, feel free to add your suggestions.

  1. Traffic, Traffic and more Traffic.

This is the bain of my existence, I am sure this is a problem for you as well. Owning an Internet Home Business is great, it’s a nice start, but with no traffic, we might as well be operating in a black hole some where unless we get traffic. The lure of the Internet is intoxication, we hear about the millions, no, we hear about the billions of people on the Internet and we get all excited about the potential and we start to figure out if we get just a tiny tiny trickle of that traffic, look how successful we will be. However, we need to get at least some of that traffic to stop by our Internet Home Business if we want to survive.

I have learned a lesson about traffic generating ideas that I want to warn you about. its in regards to article marketing. BEWARE, this is a scam of epic porportions. Beware of anyone who wants to make money off your labors, they promise you, an I quote ” massive traffic ” and in reality, you get nothing. There is an industry that has sprung up, preying on people who own an Internet Home Business, knowing we die without traffic, they prey on us like the scammers they are.

The promise goes like this, submit articles to their company, they submit the articles to hundreds of free article sites, and then stand back and watch the flood of ” massive traffic “. the problem is, the ” massive traffic ” never comes, not even a trickle. You pay, month after month, they offer up excuses, you keep paying until the truth becomes clear to you, by then its too late for you. You’ve paid them hundreds of dollars, they have stolen your time, effort, resources, and they then move on to the next victim. The worse offender in this scam is a company called, Submit Your Article, they operate out of the UK. They are very slick, very slick, very persistent, but very dishonest.

Their  particular angle is this, they promise ” massive traffic ” and when you email and say, where is the ” massive traffic’ they THEN start with the, it takes time, wait, be patient, very nice ladies email you with canned messages, asking for patience. At first they tell you to wait, 2 to 3 months, then the wait is moved to 5 to 6 months, and if you are desperate enough, they actuallytell you and have the nerve to say it, the wait for the ” massive traffic’ will be over a year. They are praticularily insediouse because they prey on people like us, people who own an Internet Home Business, the only way we can survive is to get traffic, we trust them and after months of no reults,we are left with nothing.

I know the Internet is a dangerouse place to do business, this company is a prime example of the crooks and scammers that are out there. One last point about these people, at first, when you email and ask why the ” massive traffic ” is not coming, they email you back right away, saying just be patient. After about the 6 th month mark, when its clear the gig is up, they just stop emailing mailing you, why bother, you know you have been scammed, they have your money and you have no traffic.  This was a rant, but a rant that I hope will save you some money, and some of your valuable time, here are some more ways to save time, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com      Have a great day, see you tomorrow.

Ensure Commitments are Realistic, Goal Setting for Internet Home Business Owners

February 22nd, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Internet Home Businesses

If you operate an Internet Home Business, setting goals and achieving them hinges on making sure that the commitments you need to make to achieve them are realistic, within your capabilities to make good on them in the end. Setting the goal is one thing, deciding IF the goal is obtainable is a big part of the process. You do this by fleshing out the steps it will take to make that goal happen. As an example, you want to build  a new web site for your Internet Home Business, the one you have is not doing the job. Now. lets see if the requirements to accomplish that goal are within your means to deliver.

You need to now decide what it will take to get a new web site built, the costs, the time, the resources. These are the requirements, the commitment that will be needed to get this particular goal accomplished. Along this process. of fleshing out this goal, you need to be able to check off all of the factors BEFORE you actually start working on it. If one of the commitments is missing, you need to re evaluate the whole goal. If 80% of the commitments can be met, but not the last 20%, you need to re work or re think the whole goal. Think twice, act once will save you the wasted time and effort that chasing a goal that is not obtainable.

If you own an Internet Home Business, there is always more things we want to do, than we have time and resources to support. We need to be sure that what ever time, money and effort we have, is spent where it will do us the most good. This is what properly utilizing our time is all about, for more details, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com. Checking to see if what it will take to make your goals happen is just an extension of the carpenters advice, measure twice, cut once. The same applies to those of us who own an Internet Home Business, walk through the process of acheiving your goals, make sure what you want to do is withing your grasp, before you spend time, money and resources and THEN finding out, half way thought, that something is missing.

The real value in doing a dry run on setting your goals is this, you invest a small amount of time , up front, and if you find a missing ingredient in your goal setting commitment list, you can make the changes at the beginning of the process, where the cost to you is minimal. This is all about saving you, time, money and wasted effort. A simple rule of thumb, the sooner a mistake is found, the less it will have cost you.

Measuring twice, and then cutting once simply outlines that its better and more efficient to spend a little time in making sure everything is in place, than to think you are saving time in only doing a little planning, and then finding out, when it will really hurt you that you have made a mistake. It outlines the difference it makes to everyone, when we find out we tried to cut corners and how much those cut corners will really cost us.

One thing I have not touched on is this, you need to add establishing what is required to achieve your goals, to your goal setting process, I suppose I took that for granted, so I am adding that piece of the puzzle here. Setting a goal that requires ingredients you are not able to provide is a futile and flawed exercise. You have to match your abilities and your skill level to your goals, other wise you are just spinning your wheels. Operating an Internet Home Business is tough enough, without us frustrating ourselves unnecessarily. I too own an Internet Home Business, I am speaking from past experience. More about this tomorrow, have a great day.

Internet Home Business Goal Setting, Make Time Frame Realistic

February 21st, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Internet Home Businesses

If you operate an Internet Home Business, setting realistic time frames for goals is crucial. The purpose of goal setting is to have a goal sitting out there on the horizon, waiting to be acheived. If the time frame you have set for youreslf is faulty, then we have defeated the whole process. Internet Home Business owners. like the rest of us, including myself, we need regular small victories to be successful, that is what proper goal setting is all about.

There are two kinds of unrealistic time frames, when it comes to goal setting, the too easy one, and the one that is too difficult to reach, under any circumstances. Lets look at the too easy one first.

You set a goal to make 5 sales presentations to 5 new prospects. One a day would a reasonable goal to set for yourself, you decide to allow yourself 3 weeks to get the job done. You have turned a reasonable goal, 5 new prospects, into just part of your work day, another task that may be achieved or not, you have put this goal into your regular daily hopper of things to do, a dangerous tactic to adopt. Making goals part of your regular routine makes them just another job, among many, nothing special, certainly not a goal that will be earmarked as a priority. Running a successful Interent Home Business requires a realistic set of goals, that are acheived on a regular basis in order that the business be a success.

Another error here is, by giving yourself too much time to achieve the goal, you will find that it will start to be dropped down the ladder of priorities, because, you guessed it, you will figure you have lots  of time left to get it done. Sound familiar? What is not important today, if let to sit on the back burner too long, quickly boils over into  urgent, as well as an important task. It’s the same old problem of c priorities being ignored until it’s too late to do anything about them.

One last point about playing it too cozy, giving yourself too much time to get a goal achieved. Part of the process of setting a realistic time frame in which to accomplish your goals is this, a little sense of urgency is never a bad thing. I did say, a little sense of urgency, little being the key word. Running an Internet Home Business is stressful enough, we do not need to make the job  anymore difficult by adding unnecessary stress to it.

Goals are wishes we want to turn into reality, see them become reality, see them accomplished. If the deadline is unrealistically, too far away, all of that anticipation is lost, and it’s that anticipation and a little sense of urgency that helps fuel the fire that gets things done. You do not want to waste those important emotions by picking a completion date that is too far in the future.

The next unrealistic expectation is, the due date that is too short, the date that turns the whole goal setting process into a stressful, anxiety filled nightmare. If you run an Internet Home Business, goals should be something that adds to our enjoyment of the business, not make it harder. By setting goals that are unrealistically short, we make them urgent and important, a bad combination. We want to organize and set up our days so we are working at an optimum pace, getting priorities accomplished, and in doing so, getting our goals, systematically accomplished.

Whats the secret? There is no secret, what comes close to being a secret is this, you know are aware of the two ends of the process, at one end, setting goals that are too far in the future, at the other end, setting goals with too short a completion date. In the middle is the perfect spot. I guess the secret is this, we very rarely get that perfect spot in the middle, BUT if we keep trying, knowing the dangers of getting too close to either end, we will be on target more times than not.   Have a great day.

Internet Home Business Goal Setting, the Missing Link

February 20th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Internet Home Businesses

Internet Home Business goal setting, the missing link deals with the mistake that a vast majority of Internet Home Business owners that I deal with make. Do not feel alone, this mistake is shared by 95% plus of the population as well. Ther first mistake  is that people do not have an operating system that they use to help them navigate life, a better name is, a Time Management system, try looking at this one, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com. With out an operating system, or a Time Management system, you are missing all of the tools you need to be successfull. For those of you that read the posts here, I use terms and procedures that are covered in the Power Time Management System, these terms describe the what and the how, to make you more successful and happier.

This post is a prime example, an extremely important tool to have when it comes to making sure that the goals you set, have an opportunity to get accomplished, is the whole process of Time Activating your goals, into your Day Planner. Both of those terms come out of the Power Time Management System. Lets have a fast review of these two terms here.

Day Planner   The name says it all, its a place where you put your plans for the day. In our case, it is a binder, or a spreadsheet on your computer, a place, a written place that you lay out your Agenda for the day. Without this tool, you are virtually flying blind for the day. Your chances of getting what you want done that day, or any day for that matter is as close to zero as you can get. I have dealt with thousands of Internet Home Business owners, those that have written Agendas for their days, have a 99% BETTER chance of being successful on those days, than people who do have written Agendas. I have seen this fact over the last 30 years, what possible reason would I have for saying it if it was not true?

Let us not confuse our, your day planner for a simple date book, a calender where you jot down some of the meetings or appointments you might have during the day, for details, www.powertimemanagementsystem.com  A Day Planner, is a detailed plan for each and every day, it outlines the entire thought process you should go through each day to set up and organize your day. You need to give yourself every possible advantage, this is an advantage you can not be without.

Time Activating is the missing link, it is the step that helps you turn goals, which are an advanced wish, closer to a reality. What is Time Activating?

Time Activating    When you write down in your Day Planner, specific time slots when a specific priority will be done. A specific priority and a specific tiemslot when it will get done. For example, I have a report that needs to be done tomorrow, its a priority, it will take about an hour, I will then Time Activate the time frame from between 9:00 to 10:00 to get this priority done. You know know that the time to get this task done, has been Time Activated, it has been reserved, regardless of how busy tomorrow gets, regardless of how many urgent things may try to crowd out your Agenda, you know one thing for sure, that key priority already has its own time reserved for it to be done in.

This step, in conjunction with the rest of the steps you do to set up your Agenda, lays the foundation for you to get the important things you need and want to get done in your life. By now, we should all know that tasks and jobs do not just get done, there has to be a plan in place, the groundwork has to be laid, to enable us to have a system in place to help us get through days , weeks and months that are already far too jammed with things, tasks and jobs we either want to do, or would like to do.

Operating an Interent Home Business in that climate is a tough job, start by making it easier on yourself, start to Time Activate the really imporatnt taks and jobs in your life in your Day Planner. Try it, the results will amaze you.  Have a great day.

Internet Home Business Review of First 4 Topics In Goal Setting

February 18th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

This is the Internet Home Business Review of the firsts 4 topics in goal setting. I have covered these in the last 6 weeks and have received a fair amount of positive comments from people. The questions have been good and I have tried to answer them over the last little while. I will list them here as well as adding a line or two and answer some of the questions again. I will highlight what I consider the main point to be in each item. If you own an Internet Home Business, you will find some very useful points in this post.

  1. Goal Setting is Not a One Time Process    Setting goals is a process that evolves over long periods of time, and after the goals are set, the application and integration of those goals must be on a daily basis. The routine of setting Goals at the beginning of the year, and then dusting them off a year latter, is a futile gesture and a waste of your time. Setting the goals is a long process in itself, the  process of achieving those  goals is equally long. If you want to achieve your goals, they have to be front and centre.

  2. Set Your Goals, You Need to Have Goals   This may seem to be redundant, but in needs to be said. Having goals is important because it gives you are target to shoot at. We all need to have something off in the distance, not too distant mind you, but having goals that make us reach and work towards is an important part of the process. If you own an Internet Home Business, you need to have an idea of what you are shooting for, what defines success for you. You should be able to turn around to the person beside you, or the wall beside you, and quickly recite at least 3 goals you have for yourself  and 3 goals for your Internet Home Business. If not, spend some time on this important topic, for some help, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com

  3.  Write Them Down  If your own an Internet Home Business and think you have goals set up for this year, the way to tell is to go and look at them, right now. This is a trick question, if you can not go and find them, ie, find them written down some where, then you really do not have anything in place as far as goals are concerned. You absolutely must get them out of your head, and down in some written form, that is a must. I have dealt with thousands and thousands of people who own an Internet Home Business, some with multiple Businesses, and I can tell you this, the ones who take the time, to properly think out the process of setting their goals, then take the time to write them down, have 100 times more chance of achieving the goals than those that do not write them down.

  4.  Make Your Goals Measuarable  Saying my goal this year is to be rich, is a waste of breathe, saying you want to make 5,000 more this than last year, that is a measurable goal. The easier it is to identify what the goal is , the easier it will be to realize it. This does not mean make the goal easy, just make the goal easier to identify when it has been achieved, easier. The purpose of setting goals is to make us reach for something, make us strive to be better, the purpose is to not frustrate us.

That gives you a little more meat on the first 4 Goal Setting topics. When you think about it, owning an Internet Home Business is a challenge  in itself, we do not want to make our lives any more difficult than they already are by making this process harder than it should be. The goal setting process, when you think about it, should be a pleasant one. Setting and then reaching our goals is one of the pleasures of owning an Internet Home Business.   Have a great day.
