Is there Such a thing as a Free Internet Buisness ?

You are looking at starting an Internet Home Business, you see the ads all over the place, Free Internet Business, start today, no money, no experience, quit your day job, click here. First and foremost, if the Internet Home Business they are totting is really free, you best be on guard. There is a difference between an Affiliate Marketing opportunity, and a real business. I know, the AM people really dislike my definition of a real Internet Home Business and the version they trot out. What I am talking about when I see the reference to a Free Internet Business is a business that is self contained and you as the owner control the business.

Quickly, an AM Internet Home Business is not a business as far as I am concerned. You are basically a middle man, who does all of the work, and then hopes someone will buy the products or services you are promoting. Yes, my site has AM programs on it, and no, I am not being a hypocritical, here is why. My issue with AM programs is how they are sold and marketed to people. The hype, the exaggerated claims, the out right fabrications of profit potentials, the lack  of proper disclosure, the total absence of an explanation of where the traffic is going to come from, to name just a few issues.

When you say that your are offering  a Free Internet Business, you have an obligation to provide something that resembles that. I am tying AM with the claims  out there of these programs are  resembling a Free  Internet Business, that is my beef. Is there a place for new people to become AM when they are starting out new on the Internet?, no. If all you have on your site is someone else s products and services, which is what being an Affiliate Marketer is, then I believe you are headed for a world of grief.

I have said this before, repeatedly, starting out with nothing on your Internet Home Business site but other peoples products, is going to be the kiss of death for you. What you need to do is this, don’t believe me, and certainly do not believe the Am owners, they have a huge vested interest in getting you on board, talk to the millions of people out there who have been done the path you have gone, ask them where they are now.

From personal experience, I have a number of sites that I  have bought over the last year, all in some way were involved in AM, some of them offering Free Internet Home Business opportunities, and my results have been basically zero. Despite the claims from the previous owners of revenue , the revenue has been absolutely zero. During the course of buying these sites, I have been talking to hundreds of people who have been on the other side of the equation, the poor souls who bought into the hype of AM and spent the time to get set up, and then waited, and waited, and then waited even more, in vain, for the money to start rolling in, as promised.

They are still waiting. The concept of AM is flawed from the get go, the crucial ingredient that we all need, owners of an Internet Home Business is that elusive traffic. I would like for someone, especially supporters of AM, to show me one program that has a legitimate source of traffic, enough traffic to make the program viable and sustainable for the people opening up sites exclusively to sell some one else s product.

How To Properly Pick a Niche Market for Your Internet Home Business

The concept of picking a Niche Market, NM, for your Internet Home Business is not flawed, just the way you do it maybe. First and foremost, you need to realize that picking a business is a very personal matter. Your first Internet Home Business should be a business that you spend time and consideration on, not something that you pick off the shelf like a can of soup at the supermarket. I am talking about the systems out there that tell you they basically have a NM business in a box, all of the work is done, all you have to do is fork over some money and they give you a ready made NM business.

Quickly, their pitch is this, they have a system, no one else has, their system is that they have picked a secret NM that no one knows about, and if you buy their system/package, you will have  a NM business already set up, site, name, running on the Internet, all you have to do is wait for the money to roll in. The pitch is based on the premise that because no one else seems to know about this NM, you will be the only person trying to sell in it and because you are in a very low competitive market, you win.

This concept is very flawed. First and foremost, the reality is that these people are selling thousands of these so called NM web sites, even if they had discovered some secret NM, after they are finished selling thousands of these sites in a box, you are no longer in a secret low competitive market. There has to be a connect between you, and your new Internet Home business, after all, after  you pay your money, who is going to run this new business of yours? Yes I know, these sites are always suppose to be auto pilot  sites, once they are set up, you never  have to touch them, except take the money to the bank.

This is just another major flaw in their pitch. The concept of set and leave the business is just too bizarre to be even taken seriously. This is just not the story with the NM people, this idea that you can buy, for a fee, an Internet Home Business of any kind that will just sit there, without you working on it, and just make money, is just false, misleading and scammy to  the 100th degree. This variation on the set it and leave idea is all over the Internet, it is like a fungus, its all over the place, especially in the low lying areas, like swamps and bogs. My opinion of these people is very low, how could you tell!

The idea that there are businesses that you could buy, for under a $ 100.00, that you could put on ” auto pilot ” a term they like to use, and then just collect the money is absurd. The acid test in my mind is this, if it works like they say it does, why don’t they just open up thousands of them for themselves, and retire to the South Pacific? Funny thing, when ever I ask them this question, I never get an answer, ever.

Back on point. When to properly pick a NM? Pick your Internet Home Business FIRST, then work on the details of whether your over all business is viable, as part of an overall assessment. Part of your over all assessment is deciding what you want  your business to do for you and how fast you need it to get there. The whole idea behind getting into a NM is that you supposedly have a better chance to get market share when there are less competitors in that market place. None of that matters if you have decided that you are in a market that you want to be in and that you are prepared to succeed, over the long haul.

The best advice I can give you is this, the businesses that succeed, are the ones that are run by people who are doing what they want to do, hopefully what they like to do, and they are prepared to put in the time, effort and resources  to build their business properly. How To Find A Niche Market For a New Internet Home Business

Starting a new Internet Home Business? , and you want to find a Niche Market, NM? Good, here is my advice. Stop looking right now, you are going at it all wrong. Remember, this is free unbiased advice, I am hoping to save you time, money, and aggravation. First and fore most, you find the business first, then you start your Internet Home Business. A NM is not a business,  despite what the scammers are telling you. We have all heard their pitches, with their system, for $ 97.00 they will be able to not only find you a NM, they will set up your site, put you on the front page of Google, all in 30 minutes or less.

Please,  do not fall for this, its a scam from the get go, can never be delivered on and all they want is your money. If you are looking to start a business on the Internet, you need to find yourself s business concept that is  actually business, something  that sells a product or a service. This is the important part, it HAS to be an Internet Home Business that you can run and operate,  a business  that you know something about. Just setting up a web site with a NM idea, and then saying that is a business, is just a pipe dream.

Part of owning a business , especially on the Internet means being able to build and grow your site and business, if you pick one of these businesses in a box, what the heck are you going to do with it once you have it? The pitch you get is very convincing, it sounds so easy, just buy our system, and we will do all of the work, and you will be set up in no time, what then? Yes, these guys can have a web site up, with a few pages of content, in a Niche Market, and when you click on the URl, it will go to a site that you can call you very own Internet Home Business. Now what do you really have?

It looks nice, its a template that looks like thousands of other sites out there, it has your email address on it, you have the passwords to it, it looks like a real web site, but what can it actually do for you? The fact is, its missing one vital ingredient that all businesses need, it needs customers, on the Internet we call that traffic. You can sit there to the cows come home, all you are going to be catching are the fleas.

I am not here to rain on your parade, if you are new and just looking at getting started on the Internet, there are ways to do it and ways to not do it, one of the ways to not  do it is to think NM is the way to go. The acid test to tell if a business  opportunity is a real opportunity is by asking yourself this simple question, ” if this business in a box concept, Niche Marketing is as easy as they say it is, why don’ these guys just open up thousands of them for themselves and make a fortune? “, that’s a really good question isn’t  it? “  The answer to the question is simple, the concept does not work, the only people who make money are the people selling the systems.

The title of this post is, How to Find a Niche  Market for a New Internet Home Business? the answer is, you don’t. Find a business you  like, something you know something about, something you like, something that you hope you will find interesting to run, something that is fun, THEN, you do some thinking about the size of market and whether you can make a go of it or not . I am not saying that looking at the size of the market  is not an important consideration, what I am saying is that you can’t pick a business based on whether it may or may not be in an underdeveloped  Niche Market.

If You Own an Internet Home Business, How Easily Can I Dominate a Niche Market?

I am using the words of some of the ads out there directed at people who have an Internet Home Business, or are thinking of starting one. If you already have an Internet Home Business, thinking that you are going to dominate a Niche Market by buying one of these businesses in a box is not going to happen, period. If you are new to the Internet, get used to the fact that building your business is going to take some time, lots of work, and is not going to be a matter of buying some ones supposed system and presto you are in business. What does dominating a NM really mean?

1. On the Internet, the only way you can dominate a market is to get the most traffic. Without traffic, nothing happens on the Internet. Think of traffic, and what it takes to get that traffic as the start of most, probably all of the things you do on the Internet to get your Internet Home Business up and profitable. If you opened the same business on the outside, you would have the same concerns, you physically open your door at 9:00, and you wait for the customers to walk in, no customers, no business. On the Internet, getting traffic to our site is more complicated than just opening our door.

On the Internet, no one knows we exist because they can not physically see us, no walk by traffic, no cars going by, we are as  our name suggests, an Internet Home Business, with the emphasis on the home part.  This is something that we always have to keep in the front of our minds, the actions that we take, have to be made with this fact, no one knows we exist, what ever we do, we have to remind ourselves that to succeed, we need to make sure we can be noticed.

When we see the ads, hear the pitches, you have to add this at the end, ……………………………., and how are we going to get traffic? When you see an ad that says, with my system, you can dominate any niche market in 30 minutes, you add to that, and how do I get the traffic to do that? If I asked this question of myself when I opened up for first Internet Home Business, I would not of wasted almost a year on activities that did not get me traffic. The best advice I have ever gotten is from a person who I call the Master, he knows just about everything in regards to making a go of it on the Internet, his advice was to spend 80 % of your time on traffic driving tasks, and 20% on building your Internet Home Business web site. Good advice, I wish I had met the Master a year ago.

For a moment, lets forget the scammers who are out there selling their schemes and plans. for a buck, telling you that you can dominate a NM for 97.00. Is it possible, the legitimate way, the long, hard work way to dominate a NM? I suppose we have to come up with a way to determine when we have or have not dominated a NM, and then see if that is possible. The scammers like to pretend that you can get to the point that we are just mopping the floor with the rest of the other Internet Home Businesses out there, that we are the only ones that exist. That is not possible, either way, at the end of the day, there will be 50 to 100, if not hundreds of other sites out there, all competing for the same people, the same traffic. We have to forget the empty promises of the scammers and focus on what is possible.

The way to be a dominate player in any market, that is the term that I use, and that is a goal we should have, the way to be a dominate player, is to get on the front page of the search engines, as a start. Depending on who you listen to, and what kind of Internet Home Business you have, you will get anywhere from 50 % to more than 90% of your traffic from search engines. Yes , there are  web sites that get all of their traffic from referrals, links, banner ads, forums, blogs, but these are not the norm. For now , lets concentrate on the traffic from the search engines, the most popular source of traffic on the Internet by far.

For now, lets work on the basis that dominating a NM is really just a marketing slogan made up by people who want to take advantage of new people  to the Internet, hoping to cash in on their need to succeed, and the fact that a certain segment of these  new people to the Internet will grasp at any straw. Niche Marketing for an Internet Home Business, Drew Some Strong Reactions

If you own an Internet Home Business, you belong to the largest segment on the Internet. You and I represent the biggest market to anyone who wants to make money. The Internet Home Business market represents the single largest group of people, who want to make money operating their businesses, this in turn draws out the people who want to help us make that money. However, this is where there is a split in the path. My Internet Home Business, like yours and yours, offers a real product that people can buy and use, not so with the marketers that are trying to  separate you and I from our money. Lets look at the concept of Niche Marketing, NM.

1. First and foremost, NM is a term that was invented,  promoted and developed as a concept to be peddled to people who own an Internet Home Business and who  want to make money. It was man made, and made to separate you from your money. NM as a pure business concept, without all of the added hype and outright lies attached to it, is a sound basic business principle, has been around as long as there were two competitors in the same village  both trying to sell the same thing. Niche Marketing means trying to find an underdeveloped portion of the market that you can get into more easily and because of the lessen competition, can make a go of it.

In principle, NM is a sound way to go, nothing wrong with the concept, what  is wrong is what is happening out there in the market place. If you are starting out in your first Internet Home Business, by all means, pay attention to the niches out there, pick your business and your spots carefully, just stay away from the people who have a ” system ” to allow you to put up a niche Internet Home Business web site in 30 minutes and instantly dominate that market. NM is  a sound business practice if it’s done properly, here are the practices  to stay away from.

1. Instant Internet  Home Business web sites featuring an instant Niche Market concept. Remember, a NM is only a NM if it in fact has a following, fills a need, or there are people actually interested in what your think is a NM. There is no such thing as NM, you can not put that term into a search engine and have Niche Markets pop up, it does not work that way. Take the auto motive industry for example, it’s huge. Lets narrow that industry down a bit, lets look at after car sales, that has reduced the total market by a chunk, but that end of the auto market is still too huge for us to compete in, that is the purpose of this exercise, finding a part of a big market, that we want to set up our Internet Home Business in, that small piece of a large market is called a NM.

We are now looking for a smaller piece of the auto after market, the part of the auto  industry that sells and services people after they bought a car. We decide that we want to service people who have bought convertibles, narrowing the market even further. We like old classic cars, so we decide that we want to service and repair old classic convertibles. This is the niche market we want to set up our Internet Home business in, and we are hoping that this market is in fact a market and is large enough to support our business. Setting up a real NM business is a bit tricky, we need a market big enough to support our business, but we need to be able to get a piece of that market to do so. Our NM  has to be big enough to support us, but not too big that we get lost in the shuffle with the big boys.

Part of the process of getting started in an Internet Home Business is picking a business that we like and know something about, and then making sure that what we pick is a business, not a hobby. Niche Marketing? A Good Fit For an Internet Home Buisness?

An Internet Home Business, to be successful, has to be something that you like, are good at, and know something about. Manufacturing a niche Internet Home Business is not a logical sustainable way to go.  NM is a business that makes the person pushing this concept money, but not you, sound familiar? The best Internet Home Business for you, is the business that you make, develop, sweat over, from the ground up, that will be a business that you have a shot at making some money with. First what about NM?

1. NM is an old ploy that people trot out as a business that YOU should get involved in, not them, not them because they already have a business, getting you to pay them for the privilege of losing your money. What is a niche? A niche is a segment or a piece of a market. You are a mom who wants to work from home, you have two kids, you want to sell baby clothes from home. The baby clothes market, is a huge market, billions of dollars a year. You need to find a niche, a small piece of that market that you can start your Internet Home Business in, you want to find a spot in that huge market that you think you can enter, and be successful in. The best niche for you to enter in, is a niche that you know something about, this is very important to you and your possibility of success.

You have two kids at home, you want to sell baby clothes into a billion dollar industry, to compete with all of the other players in this market would be suicidal, so we are looking for a small segment, a niche in that industry where we can sneak in and start our business and have a chance of success. Another important ingredient of a good niche business is finding a segment of a big market, that is under serviced, that has little competition, in other words, room for your new Internet Home Business. Make no mistake about this, finding these under serviced, small niches that are just waiting for you, us, are extremely difficult to find, emphasis on the word extremely. Not impossible, just very difficult.

This is why these huskers out there trumpeting their new NM concept, telling you  that you can have a NM web site up in 30 minutes, have just moved from the husker category to the scammer category. I just listened to a webinar last night on this very topic, part of the pitch was that with his system, I could not only have 1 NM web site up in minutes, but 5!! To get this new system, in pr launch mode, with only spaces for 19 people, would cost me 67.00, soon to be 499.00. Same pitch that I have heard for years, as a I say, same dog, different fleas.

Back to our stay at home mom who wants to sell  baby clothes. She needs to find a niche, an under serviced niche that she can enter and start her Internet Home Business, but where to start? How about custom made snugglies? I am calling the  sling that people use to carry their babies in the front of them so their hands are free, snugglies, okay? This mother, we will call her Betty, has noticed that the snugglies the huge manufacturers produce are a one size fits all, but Betty knows from personal experience, this is not the case. She also knows that most of the moms she knows, are always complaining that if the snugglie was a bit longer, shorter, wider, they would work much better.

Maybe this could be a niche market, one that is totally under serviced, could be the start of an Internet Home Business for Betty. She starts, up goes the web site, out go the fliers, passes out cards, she talks to her friends and guess what, there is a niche, a segment of this huge baby clothes market , custom made snugglies that Betty can set up shop in and prosper. Do not confuse this example with the NE scams out there. I will go into detail tomorrow about  what to avoid and how to start a real niche Internet Home Business. Internet Home Business Alert, the Search Engines Change Their Methods in How They Rate Us, More Than 400 Times a Year !!

Yes, if you own an Internet Home Business and you think you can pull a fast one on the search engines, SE, you better think again. I have heard, from a number of reliable sources, that the SE, change their algorithms, how they  decide page rank, among other things, 400 or more times a year. What does that  mean to you and me, the little Internet Home Business people out there? It means a number of things, first and for most, it means to me, that I better not try to use one of the thousands and thousands  of tricky, sneaky, black hat ways  that the scammers say, we can cut corners and build our sites and businesses.

There are basically two ways to build your Internet Home Business, the right way, and then the other way. The right way, is unfortunately, the slow way. If anyone has some sort of way they claim to have that will do something quick, right now, instantly, you can be absolutely sure, that it does not work. The reason that you can be sure that it does not work is this reason, why the heck would they tell you and me? Think about it for a second, lets assume, for a second, that I REALLY did find a way to send unlimited traffic to my site, this means that I have something no one else does, and I can really send legitimate, REAL traffic to my web site.

You know know how to be a multi millionaire, may be a billionaire. With that kind of power, you just wake up one day and decide to share it with the world, for 49.95 a pop? By sharing your secret with the world, you have just made your secret worthless, because every body in the world will know about it in a week or two, then they will all have unlimited traffic, making your site the same as all of the others in the world, ie, worthless. Even the idea that such a secret exists is unfathomable and then to think that someone who actually had it would share it with the world, is even more ridiculous.

If   you own an Internet Home Business, get used to the idea that there is no short cut, and their is no secret, just released formula to make build your business easy or an over night slam dunk. On top of this fact, just be be sure, the SE’s, change the way they decide who gets on the front page, more than once daily. Lets take an example, lets  say that someone, some how, has ACTUALLY  found a way to trick the SE’s  and has a way to make their keywords, the ones that are the most clicked on and they end up getting all of the traffic . Based on the fact, that the SE’s change the rules more than once a day, you would only have less of a day to take advantage of your discovery.

This post is my way of doing two things, reinforcing in my mind, as well as the Internet Home Business owners who are reading this, to not weaken and try one of the scams out there that say we can take short cuts and build our sites that way. Short cuts do not exist, they do not exist because with millions and millions of people out there all trying to get ahead, if there was a way to get around the SE’s, some body would of come up with the way by now.

I am reinforcing in my mind, that the way that I am trying to build my Internet Home Business, will in the long run, be the best long term sustainable way to do it. I am putting real, man made original content on my pages, the stuff that can not be created by a machine, the content that will stand the test of time, with the SE’s, as well as the people who come to my site. The only really fool proof way to build up your site is to do it in a way that can not be reproduced or duplicated by a machine or any other computerized fashion.

If you own an Internet Home Business that deals with the best way to groom you pet dog, no one else can reproduce or duplicate the way you know is the best way. This is the kind of real original information that the SE’s like and reward. If you spend the time to have this real original hand made content on you web page, regardless of how the SE’s change their way to rank you and us, this type of information will never go out of favor.   Have a great day, see you tomorrow.

Internet Home Business Tip of the Week, March 22, 2010

The Internet Home Business  tip of the week is, we can not out smart the largest corporation on the Internet, stop thinking some one has. I am referring to all of the owners of an  Internet Home Business as we, as well as all of the other people, good and bad, that are involved in trying to helping us  make a buck on line. I am referring to ALL of the offers out there that say, among other things;

1. They have a way to get traffic to your Internet Home Business site by tricking the traffic that should go to other sites, to come to yours. There is not secret formula out there that some one has just invented that will get traffic to your site. Traffic and search engines are connected, who runs the search engines?, yes the largest and the next several largest corporations on the Internet, Google, Yahoo, etc, these are the largest and the smartest corporations on the Internet, we are not going to outsmart them on these issues.

The search engines want to have a clean, fairly honest playing field, the Internet, it is in their best interest to make sure that what takes place on the Internet suits their scheme of things, ie, they want to give the best searches to their customers, and then they want those customers to get where they want to go, that is in their best interests. Do you really think that they are going to let some two bit scammer devise or invent some secret formula that will allow him to divert of switch traffic that comes from their searches, to some one else’s  site?

This post is to save you, the owner of an Internet Home Business, money, time and aggravation. If you want to build a real legitimate business on line, the way to do it is to build traffic to your site, the real way, the long and slow way, and not get caught up in trying to think there is a short cut to traffic, there is not one, never has been and never will be. Nothing infuriates me more than to read, for the 200 th time, about somebody who has thought up a new , special formula that will allow  him, for a fee, to get traffic to your site, all for   $  99.95!!

What this person is saying is this, he has some how come up with a way to trick Google, Google is the company that has 100,000 of the smartest brains in the world, working 24, 7, on how to stay light years ahead of this scammer and the thousands of other scammers out there. Think about it for a moment, if anyone could just divert, trick, maneuver, switch or some how alter the flow of traffic on the Internet, what would be the purpose of the Search engines, they would be redundant over night.

There is a reason that the search engines do not tell us how they give out page rank and all of the other goodies that they control, if they did that, we all would be tied for the number one spot. I have an Internet Home Business and I need to build traffic to my site, and all that goes with that. There is not a single doubt in my mind that part of the algorithms that the search engines use to rank us, Internet Home Business owners, deals with the how we build our sites. The how being, do we think we are smarter than the engines, or do we build our sites, ethically, do not try to trick people, or the engines, and do we build  our sites with some morals and decency.

The tip  of the week is simple, operate and build your Internet Home Business without trying to pull a fast one on someone, anyone, build it so you can be proud that you did not try to cut corners, pull  a fast one on any anybody, and most importantly, do not try to think we are smarter than they are, we are not. Lastly, I really believe that the search engines are aware of those people that do try to pull a fast one on them, and in the end, they are going to suffer. The reality is this, there are a lot more of them, search engines , than us Internet Home Business owners, we need them, more than they need us, we have to remember that. Continuation of A Feel Good Story About An Internet Home Business Success Story

I will finish off my Internet Home Business success story from yesterday. They started their business, which by the way was not a business at the beginning, just a hobby that they did part time, for some fun. This part time fun hobby now employs over 20 people, and they ship their candied products all over the world. Lets get caught up.

1. The reason I am posting this story is to give those of us with an Internet Home Business some pointers on what to do and not do. If you have the choice, go part time at the beginning. The reason for this is that there are things that we have to do to get off the ground, and those activities can be started and allowed to work, before we have the intense pressure of trying to generate income right out of the gate. If you go into your Internet Home Business full time, and do not have resources to fall back on, there is going to be a time frame, anywhere from 6 months to a year before you get any significant income.

Yes, 6 months to a year before you get any significant income. Remember, I don’t have a secret agenda here, there is no reason for me to spout the usual garbage about making money over night, that is for the scammers and the crooks. You have to get those kinds of thought out of your head, instant cash on the Internet is a myth, a pipe dream, not real, in fact the opposite is true.

Making money on the Internet is far more difficult  than it is outside in the real world of bricks and mortar, here is why. If you have a product to sell, you would open up a store in a strip mall for example, you would be situated on a street that had both drive by traffic as well as walk by traffic,  a normal set up for a new store, in the bricks and mortar world. You put up your sign and open your door, and you wait. Maybe some one walks by in 20 minutes and notices you are open, walks in and looks around. Some of the cars that are driving by notice the sign, they stop and walk in also. Other people in the same strip mall see that you are open and they walk in also. This is how a store in the bricks and mortar world gets people in the door, they see the store, they walk in, pretty simple and straight forward. Now, lets look at our Internet Home Business and see how that business gets its traffic.

Your web site is your store, when your web site is finished, your web programmer hooks up your web address at your server, he turns the power on and presto, your sign is up and the door is open, just like in the real world, except for one small point, the traffic. You are open and ready for the customers to arrive except nobody knows you are open and ready for business, except you. In fact, what is really annoying to us, owners of these Internet Home Business sites, we are situated on this huge highway, with millions and millions of people zooming up and down this highway, just outside our store, but they can not see us, we are invisible to them.

Welcome to doing business on the Internet. What lures most of us to doing business, attempting to doing business on the Internet is the millions of people zooming around, and the potential to reach them and sell them something. How many times have we said, ” if I could just get 1 % of those millions to come to my site, look how successful I would be”.  One of the main  things  that separates a bricks and mortar business from an Internet business is how we get the people through the door of our respective  stores.The reality is this, an Internet Home Business has a much tougher time getting people through its door, than a business owner in the outside real world.

Unless you have a real crappy location, if your open a store in the outside world, you are usually going to get some traffic in the door your first day. If you have a good location, you could get a substantial amount of traffic from day one. How about when you opened your Internet Home Business, how much traffic the first day, the second, the first week? , you see my point.

I got off topic a bit , meant to give you some more information about the candied apple makers, but there is a tie in. A Feel Good Story About Owning an Internet Home Business

Its nice to hear from people who have gone the route of opening up their own Internet Home Business and are doing well. This is not  sales pitch and I will not be mentioning their name, nor their site, this is just an opportunity to show you that it can be done, and how some people, ordinary people like you and me, can do it. Their Internet Home Business deals with all things, candied apples. Here is their story.

1. First, they started the business, as a hobby, part time, something to do that they liked, they never intended to make any money from it. That is a common theme in many more cases than you would think. There are several things you should take just from that opening. Two of them are, started part time, and it was something that they liked. It is an over worked saying, but if you are in a business that you do not like, it is going to be an uphill battle.

An Internet Home Business takes an investment of time, effort and resources to be successful, especially your time. To spend that amount of time in something that you are not passionate about, it takes its toll on you. You should think long and hard about starting and getting involved in a business opportunity that you do not like, getting involved in a business that you do not like is let getting sentenced to a life term in jail.

They also started the business, first as a hobby, in doing this, there was no pressure, they could take their time, and it did not have to make money from it, because it was a hobby. In a business that requires a long incubation period, an Internet Home Business qualifies for this description, this is the ideal situation.  Some of the ingredients of a successful Internet business, can not be rushed, getting traffic, SEO activities, page rank, indexing on the search engines, all of these components that a successful Internet business has to have, just takes time, no way around that.

2. They started part time, it was a hobby, they liked what they were doing, and they could wait for things to happen, and they did. They owned an apple orchard and were just using the apples from their own orchard to candy, at first. As the word spread, they got requests from other parts of the country, and other parts of the world. Word spread and spread, soon they had too much demand to continue as a part time hobby. When this happened, they had already built up a reputation, they had links to their site from all over the world, they had traffic, they had a business, before they really wanted one.

3. What happened to these people, naturally, is what too many of us are trying to do, unnaturally. I suppose, the search engines are really better at deciphering natural real growth of a site than we actually give them credit for. This small unassuming candy apple site, has a  page rank of 6 !! They are getting over a 1,000 hits a day from real people who are going to this site for a very specific product. I learned another lesson from these people, its not the number of visitors that come to your site, its the number of customers that come to your site that count.

I remember this site when ever I see these ads offering 20,000 visitors for 29.95. I am not someone who is known  for being patient. Owning an Internet Home Business and not being patient is not a good combination, I am learning that the hard way. I have learned quite a few lessons from this success story, the main one is, if you want to do it right, at least on the Internet, it has to be done, correctly from the start, and you have to let it take the time that it is going to take, try to artificially speed it up and you will suffer the consequences.

Whether we like it or not, anyone who owns an Internet Home Business has a partner, the source of the majority of our traffic, the search engines. More about these successful people tomorrow. Have a great evening.
