Give Youself and Your Internet Home Businesses some Respect
My Post from yesterday received some comments from people who own various Internet Home Businesses. They all asked the same question, what is the key to getting what they want to get done, into their daily schedule, on a regular routine. First and foremost, you need to have a system or a way of organizing yourself, your goals and priorities and then a place to put all of this material, in a fashion that will enable you to follow it through out the day. First and fore most, you need to make the decision that you are going to actually spend some of your time, effort and energy on getting organized, in control, set Priorities and attack your Internet Home Business , like it was a real business. Most of you are a little surprised at that last comment. Its an important one. In my humble opinion, out of 100 people who say they have an Internet Home Business, 95 have an Internet Home HOBBY, the rest are trying to turn a wish into a real business. That may seem harsh to some of you, but after dealing with thousands and thousands of people who started out operating an Internet Home Business, and ended up dropping it or just letting it die on the vine, the distinction between a business and a hobby should be made.
Do you have an Agenda set up for the next 5 days? Do you know what your key Priorities are for today, tomorrow? Do you have a Day Planner? Do you know what you are doing today between 1:00 and 2:00 ? 30 days from now, what is your general focus for the next 30 days from then on? Do you have any of this written down somewhere?
Thats 5 questions. If you did not answer at least 3 of them with a yes, you do not have an Internet Home Business, you have a hobby. This is free information, from someone who has been doing this, working with and developing Internet Home Businesses for more than 30 years ( yes I know, i was doing this with people who actually sat in front of me when i was talking to them, that was before the Internet was a viable business format) Never the less, you have a chance to take some really good free advice.
Treat yourself and your potential business with some respect. You want to give yourself and your business a fighting chance, you deserve that. Would you start to do a home repair job with out first assembling the proper tools? Then why are you trying to run an Internet Home Business without equipping yourself with the proper tools. Here are some things you should start to look at in regards to your business, and your life.
1. Integrate you business and your life. You only have a certain amount of time available, it has to be spread between your personal life and your anticipated business, perhaps a job thrown into the mix. After eating, sleeping and doing the day to day tasks that you have to do to survive and function, this includes the time you spend on an actual job if you have one, what is left? This is what you realistically have to work with in regards to developing and starting a new Internet Home Business.
2. Match your time, skills and commitment to what you want to achieve with your business. If you want to make, or expect to make a full time income, you better be prepared and have a full time incomes time available to you. If you want to make 50K a year, do you have the skills and ability to achieve that? What you want has to be aligned with what you have now, or what you are willing to acquire in the future. This is where the respect part comes in. You have to be realistic and fair to yourself. You need to sit down and look at where you are now, where you want to go and then realistically work how how you are going to get there, from where you are now.
If this makes sense to anyone and you want more info on this area, let me know.
Have a great day.
