Internet Home Business , Tip of the Week, March 8th, 2010

March 8th, 2010 Posted in Internet Home Business

I own an Internet Home Business, and I have a bit of a breakthrough to share with you. I have managed to get to the number 1  spot of big G, for  a very competitive key word, Internet Home Business. That key word gets 135,000 hits a month, which means the competition for that key word is pretty tough. If you own an Internet Home Business, here are some tips on how I did it.

  1. Keywords.  Sounds strange, but I made this mistake, believe it or not. I started my Internet Home Business, and never spent any time on the keywords. Yes, I should be in the hall of shame, as the dumbest owner of an Internet Home Business, but I did not spend anytime on keyword selection for at least 6 months, maybe even longer. When  we start our businesses, there are at least 1,ooo things to do, and we only have two hands and so many hours in a day. The choices we make are crucial to our success, take a look here on help on making the right choices, www.powertimemanagementsystems.com.

Do not make the same mistake I made in regards to keyword selection. You need to have a selection of keywords that you are going to build on, as you build your Internet Home Business. EVERYTHING you do, hinges on getting those keywords embedded on everything you have and do. On your site, in your name, in your articles, the content of your site, the coding and titles on your site, EVERYTHING. I am clearly not an expert on properly selecting and using keywords, the Internet is loaded with great free info on this subject, go out there and start there.

If you are starting an Internet Home Business, you have to spend some time, as much time as you need to, to get a really firm grip on this topic. Who ever is working with you on getting started, getting your site put up, make sure they are well versed in this topic, if not, look around till you find someone you feel comfortable with. Part of this comfort zone is you getting just a sketch of what keywords is about and then matching yourself up with a person who is on the same page as you. This is one area that you do not want to scrimp on, its crucial that you get solid, up to date advice on this topic.

   2. It’s work, pure and simple. I got to the number one spot on Google for a key word that has over 112,000,000 inquires, some browsers say, over 250,000,000, and I did it the old fashion real way, I worked at it. First of all, my skills and knowledge on the Internet, the technical side of it, are poor. I struggle with the navigation part, the technical part, the basics, all of the simple day to day things that almost all of you take for granted, I struggle with. Despite that handicap, I did persevere.

What was important, was having a plan and working that plan. I took my strengths and then put those strengths to the best possible use. I knew that the search engines liked original content, and lucky for me, that is my strength. I am a writer, among other things, I can produce original content on a regular basis and the content is actually pretty good : ) Part of my plan was to create original content on a regular basis, daily in fact, on my blog, this one in fact. Even with my limited computer skills, I have been able to post daily, at least 500 to 700 words, per post, per day. If you own an Internet Home Business, and you are able to write, my advice is that is where you  should invest some of your time daily.

Nothing reinforces a goal more , than to see positive results come from putting that goal into play, making it happen and turning that goal, from a dream, to a reality. More on this topic tomorrow. Have a great day.
