Workings from Home Moms have Extra Pressures- No Kidding!!

Moms who work from home have to deal with a range of pressures that other people do not have to deal with. This article is not about changing the world order, some things are the way they are and it is unlikely that we can change them dramatically. This article is about giving work from home Moms a few tips on how to organize their time and to allow them a little breathing room. I have been involved in both the work from home industry as well as the personal empowerment, Time Management sector for over 35 years. Here are a few pointers that you may find helpful:

· Get a Plan, Work Your Plan; this applies to everyone, especially Moms who work from home. With so many things drawing at you, kids, spouses ,work,social engagements, it is imperative that you have a clear plan of attack. There are only so many hours in the day and there is only one of you, the risk of spreading yourself too thin is a real risk.

· Get a Plan you need a concrete, written day daily plan that will set out what you want to accomplish that day. This plan has to include all of the things that you are going to try to accomplish, as well as allowing for the things that you know will crop up. The daily activities of running a household have to be done, dishes, cooking, housekeeping, looking after the kids needs, spousal interaction, school activities, sports carpooling, does the list not end J All of this needs to be addressed, when you are allocating your time.

· Work Your Plan This is the hard part, staying on track and working through your plan. What is important to you is that you work through your plan; you want to get all of your obligations done, so you can realistically see what time is left over for your work from home obligations. You want to work from home, you want to get a second income, in order to do this, and you need to see how much time you really have for this second profit stream you want flowing into your house.

Working from home, having an opportunity to earn some extra cash, while you continue to raise your kids and run a household is a daunting task. The way to make it work is to have a realistic idea of what you are dealing with. You need to know on a daily basis, weekly basis, exactly how much expendable time you have available to you, time that is left over AFTER all of the other demands placed on you and your time have been met.

Making a mistake in this area, will come back to haunt you, daily. Making a mistake here, in judging what time is REALLY at your disposal for your work from home opportunity will cause you a great deal of stress and strain, unnecessarily. The last thing a work from home Mom needs is more stress and strain. Try this:

Keep a daily journal of the actual sit down, uninterrupted time you find you have daily for investing in a business, job or work from home opportunity.
Be realistic, if you are trying to work and people or things keep interrupting you, this is not going to be quality time for you.
Work at home Moms have a tendency to “make do “, try to make things work in unfavorable circumstances. This is a very admirable trait BUT in this case, you are just heading for disappointment, more stress and an unhappy ending.

Keep this journal going indefinitely. You will see trends develop and you will see concrete evidence showing you, in real time, how much time you have at your disposal to spend on a new work at home opportunity.
