Working from Home and The Survey Industry- An Unbiased Opinion

First of all this is not a paid opinion for any specific work from home survey taking type opportunity. This is my opinion on the Industry and some of the pitfalls and pluses to look for.

First

As in anything on the Internet, when there is money to be made, beware of the offers and claims out there. When people know that there are people who are looking to make some money from home, and they need and want an extra income, the sharks smell blood. The Internet is inherently a dangerous place to do business because of the ease in which people can open up shop, do business for a short period of time and then just disappear, a recipe for dishonest people to ply their trade.

Protecting yourself is not an easy thing to do. In most cases, what you will be wasting is some of your time. The only true way to find out if a company is legit is to take the time to fill in the forms and see what happens. I wish there was an easier way to do it but in the end, you need to see what the response is and if there is really work from home there for you.

A Job and Working for Payment are Two Different Things

Most Survey type opportunities are NOT jobs, they are work opportunities. In a job, you are promised a certain wage or remuneration for work performed, almost always based on an hourly wage. This is the typical job situation we are all familiar with. Be sure that you are aware of the type of situation you are getting into, regardless of the type of Internet offer.

Most Survey work from home situations are NOT jobs, you will be performing certain tasks for the company and based on your COMPLETION of the work, they will pay you accordingly. For example, if you successfully complete 5 surveys, they will pay you 10.00 a survey. If you do not complete the surveys to their satisfaction, regardless of the time you spent, you will receive nothing.

The advantage of working for hire, the more work you perform, and the more money you make.

Should You Pay for the Privilege of Getting Surveys to Do?

This debate goes on and on, some say that you should not pay to basically get work, some say that if paying gets you the work, then go for it. How much is really the issue. If you pay a small amount, fewer than 50.00, to register for and get access to lists and jobs, work from home work, then it would have been worth it. There are hundreds of web sites that advertise work from home survey type work, the trick is to find the ones that have been around the longest and have the best reputation. This brings me to my next point, testimonials.

Testimonials

There are web sites that will print you out hundreds of testimonials, complete with addresses and pictures saying what ever you want about any product you want, all for a fee. There is only one small problem, the people in the pictures saying those great things about your product, have never tried the product and never met you. So much for the testimonials you see on most web sites. I am not saying that all testimonials are suspect but for this very reason, I stopped putting testimonials from my clients on my sites because the testimonial waters have been tainted for the legitimate opportunities out there.

The Best Testimonials out there come from People and Sites You Can Really Trust

I saved the best to last, the only really safe way to know if any work from home job, business opportunity is legitimate is if someone you know or a site you REALLY trust can vouch for it. If someone who has tried the work from home job you are going to do says to you, yes, I did it or I am doing it and it has worked out for me, then jump in, the water is probably going to be fine for you as well.

Always remember working from home, whether it's a work from home job, business opportunity, Internet e-commerce site, your chances of success rely on you putting in the effort, time and dedication to make it succeed. Good luck, let's make some money today!
