Lately I started searching for a proofreading service. Since English is not my mother tongue and not my main language, sometimes I struggle especially when it comes to writing articles.

Like most people I use the Microsoft Office Word program when I write my articles but this program will only check my spelling and a bit of punctuation. It will fix a capital letter in the beginning of a sentence and make suggestion if the sentence make no sense.

The reason I was looking for the proofreading service was because one of my article was declined because of a punctuation mistake,and since I am still working on a budget, and cannot afford to pay $5-$10 per article, I searched for a free service, and you all know how hard it to find a good FREE service.

On my search I found puffread.com
puffread are offering a free proofreading service and a paid service. The free service is provided by volunteers. You submit your article and allow it 3 days for one of the volunteers to pick it up read it and edit it. 3 days is the minimum and it is the default time.

If no one picked your article/text and the due date is over you can resubmit your article again and again until someone will pick it.

This is the only disadvantage of this wonderful service. Normally someone will pick your article right away and proofread it, the readers can choose whatever subject they want and read it. Then you will receive a massage to your email and you can check this article and see the changes, deleted areas will show in red and the new text will show in blue.

As for a free service this is a great service and I like using it, it is very easy to use, just copy and paste your text and submit it. You can also find a paid service for copy editing and content editing, or if you want to make sure your text is proofed.
