My confession is this: When I first started this journey, all I heard was articles for backlinks, blogging, forum signatures and give testimonials. Well I do admit I do too much analyzing when I should just be doing.
Recently, something clicked and I have been on a roll the last few weeks. I think Suzanne's "October Goal Setting" thread and most definitely Steve Meyer's blogging contest in the Warrior Forum has lit my competitive fire.
I have begun to discipline myself as I am a competitor, not so much against others as against my inner self. Yes, I do want to win Steve's contest or I wouldn't have entered it, but I am getting more satisfaction seeing the ways I have changed my routine to accomplish the things I need to get done. They are now a habit.
Now My Testimonial: I remember the first article I ever wrote took me 3 weeks to write. Now I can easily put out 3 or 4 a week, if I put my mind to it. Don't know if I am putting out the right stuff or not, but they are being cranked out. (12) so far this month. I have had 8 visits to my site from my last 3 articles published.
Blog posting used to be 1 or 2 a week (sometimes). Let's see, (7) in Sept, (8) in Aug, (3) in July, (2) in June; OK, OK we can stop there! Through yesterday I have made (27) posts so far this month.
Commenting on other blogs was just not an option for me. I had trouble posting to my own blog, now you want me to take the time and comment on someone else? If I do not get even one backlink, the hour I spend first thing every morning commenting on blogs has made me some dear friends and that is priceless. I do about 15 every morning.

Geez, sorry folks for getting so long winded. I had to share what I am quickly learning after waking up. Do not second guess my mentors, set my goals and put a plan in motion. Dedication and determination without waiver. DISCIPLINE, DISCIPLINE, DISCIPLINE....
It is so ironic, I got onto my wife all the time for not following instructions on the box when cooking and she finally disciplined herself and succeeded, but now I see if I would have just follow my mentor's instructions from the start (practice what I preach); How much more successful would I be right now.

I spend a specific amount of time on forums every week. Personally, I set aside up to 30 minutes each day. That equals to 3 and a half hours of forum time every week. I go to forums not just to get information, but also with a specific purpose - to get traffic. I make no bones about it because I'm in business to make money.
When I post on a related forum to my business, I always make sure my signature file contains a link to one of my squeeze pages or sales pages. Because most forums don't allow affiliate links, I tend to promote my own products. I prefer sending visitors to a squeeze page to build a list.
