You can use off page optimization when writing articles and submitting them to article directories, social media marketing and social bookmarking, submitting links to SEO directories, blog commenting and forum marketing.

All these methods are used to build backlinks and your off page optimization is measured by some factors:

-How many backlinks your website has
-The quality of your backlinks
-The PR of the websites (article directories/blog/forum/etc)
-Your anchor text - using your chosen keywords here

One more factor to consider is the age of your domain. A new domain will take longer to get indexed than an old domain with a little history.
