Another important thing you must keep organized is your website.

If you are serious about your internet home business you probably have your own website and you use it to promote affiliate programs and different products if you don't have a website yet check how you can get a free website setup for you in 48 hours.

As you probably know a website is assembled from different web directories, web directories and images.

The problem is not building the web pages, but to keep it in order. Too many pages can cause a chaos and you will never find what you are looking for, also too many pages are harder to update in case of an image change or a URL change.

I have been updating my website lately and I am working hard on getting it in order, so in the future it will be much easier for me to change it in the future.

I admit I was lazy. If you are an affiliate marketer like, and you promote affiliate programs you already familiar with their promotion tools, each affiliate program gives you a link with your affiliate ID and all you have to do it copy-paste it to your website or blog.

In my case, there were time I did exactly that, but in other cases I copied the URL and redirected it from my website. This action serves two purposes. The first one is to hide the affiliate link and drive more traffic to MY website and the other one is to play it safe if the affiliate program stop working or changes the URLs.

If this scenario happens all you have to do is edit one HTML code – the code that redirects the URL – and all the other links on your website are fixed.

By not redirecting all the affiliate links you may create yourself some extra work, if the URLs or images may change you will find yourself (like me) going page after page and changing it to a new URL.

So I started working on all my affiliate links and I am redirecting them and I am also hosting all the images on my website.

Another thing I decided to do is organize the folders on my website, for example I have created a directory (folder) for business opportunities, and in it I created a separate folder for each opportunity, for each opportunity I have a redirected URL from my website and an image or two hosted.

This way every page has its own place, the website is organized and my visitors have a better surfing experience when they visit my website and it makes it easier for them to find what they are looking for.

Last week I explained to you the importance of organizing your internet home business tasks by creating a list and following it.

Today I want to elaborate on this topic and talk about organizing your internet home business office.

As a home business owner, you have 2 types of offices.

One office is your home office, the room you sit in and work from. This room is where your computer is, where your phone is, where you keep all your paper work, your lists, if write them down on a paper and everything else you need for your internet business.

Since you are working from home it is very hard to put a barrier and say "this is where my home ends and my job starts", but your home office is your job as long as you are working online and you need to treat it the same.

Keep your desk organized, keep the paper work in one place, you "to do" list in front of you, a schedule near you, keep you desk tidy and clean, with everything in reach.

The second office I am referring to is your computer. Your computer or PC or laptop is your office. Like most people you store everything there, from your emails to your dentist appointment.

It is very easy to get lost in all the information you have on your computer, but it is also easy to organize it. Your computer can create folders with one click, you can name it what ever you like and save everything.

Start with organizing your emails, label them and then save them to different folders on your computer, then organize your favorites in your browser.

Every letter you receive from affiliate programs, bills, ebooks, you need to save for future reference.

The folder system is very easy to use, you start with a main folder, then create sub folders in it etc. each folder is for different program and different features for this program.

After you finished organizing your home office all you have to do is keep it in order, and backup your hard drive, you don't want to lose all this valuable information because of one little mistake.

Today more then ever my internet home business needs to be reorganized.
The school vacation is over and we are back to full time work, and this means less time to invest on promoting the internet home business.

Personally I am trying very hard to keep with the habits I had only one week ago, these new habits drove traffic to my website, generate leads new affiliates and sales.

However the last week was so hectic, I barely had time to work online.

This is were a list came in handy and helps you organizing your internet home business.

I have 3 types of lists to keep me going even when I have little time.

The first list is a daily "To Do" List:
First I put on this list the every day tasks, like submitting my website to link directories and visiting work from home forums and internet marketing forums.

Then I write the different task I want to accomplish this day, writing a blog post or an article, submitting article to article directories, etc.

Third is reading and responding to emails, I try to minimize this, and I check my email when I start working and when I am done.

Another list is a weekly "To Do" List:
In this list I write down all the tasks I want to accomplish this week and then I divide them and if I have the time I will pick up one and do it as soon as I can.

The last List is a general "To Do" List:
On this list I write down all the things I want to accomplish with no deadline. I will check this list every once and a while, and it usually contains a list of big task, that I usually don't have the time to do, read ebooks, check new programs, etc.

These days it is even harder, I still get to do my daily list, but this list is growing shorter than it used to be only a week ago, so I decided not to have a shorter list but to do less.

Instead of submitting my site to 10 link directories I will do only 5.

Instead of writing 3 article per week I will write 2.

Yes, it is hard, and even the simple task of doing a research, which was a part of another task, is now on the list as a task of its own.

The point of these list is to keep your internet home business organized, this way you will never forget to do something, especially if you have only a few hours a day to work on your home business and you are overwhelmed with all the tasks you have to do.

The important thing is that you have to do something, your business won't work for itself it needs you, so even if you do only one thing, you did something, and that is really good.
