One of the members on one of my favorite forums ask this question:
"Do articles really generate traffic to a website or are they mainly to build credibitlty?"
Here is my answer:
"Article marketing does both. If you write good article you will build credibility and people will know you and your name, of course building credibility is one factor that will drive more traffic to your website and even targeted traffic, because people will click your links after reading your article. if they don't click it means you didn't capture their attention.

Article marketing is only one way to generate traffic, there are more ways to do it, social media marketing, forum marketing, advertising, SEO,backlinks, TEs, for me the best way is article marketing.

If you want to concentrate on article marketing I recommend writng at least one article a day."

Now lets go back to article marketing. Article marketing is all about building credibility. First your write a very good article, then you distribute it to article directories. This is the first step for building credibility. You will have to keep writing articles, build an audience that will come back for more articles. These reader will eventually generate the traffic to your webiste an maybe become a new leaf or even customer.
